Training for individuals and community on suicide
Twenty10’s Community Connector Suicide Prevention program provides training and support for organisations and community groups to identify, intervene and connect to support someone who is thinking about suicide, and help build suicide-safer communities
Switchboard delivers suicide awareness and suicide intervention skills trainings for people working with LGBTIQA+ communities.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is an international educational workshop to help people respond to suicide signals.
I-ASIST, a suicide prevention training for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, was co-designed with Indigenous leadership and consultation.
ACON’s Trans Health Equity team has worked in partnership with a range of organisations and teams to bring you training that meets the current best standard in trans affirming care, language, and practice. Including Trans Vitality Trans Affirming Practice eLearning, Trans and Gender Diverse Sexual Health Care eLearning – ASHM, and Black Dog Institute’s Recognise and Respond training.
Resources and programs that offer LGBTQ+ inclusion training and support for services
Not all services we access are affirming and inclusive. It is not your job to educate these services, especially when you are in crisis yourself. A simple way to re-direct this is to link this training to the services.
Pride In Health + Wellbeing
Pride in Health + Wellbeing is a national membership program that provides year-round support in the provision of LGBTQ+ inclusive services for those working within the health and wellbeing sector. Membership is encouraged for private sector, public sector and NGO’s regardless of size or reach. This may include government departments, small NGO’s, hospitals, GPs, aged care, housing, mental health, drug and alcohol, family & domestic violence, disability services; in fact any organisation providing health + wellbeing care and/or services across the lifespan of an individual.
ACON Pride Training – LGBTQ Inclusion Training
